Piatra Neamt is one of the most beautiful towns from Moldavia, placed on the terraces from the left of the Bistrita, at the confluence of two rivers: Cuejdi and Bistrita, at 345 m altitude, surrounded by the wooden peaks of the knolls called Cozla, Pietricica and Carloman, at the crossing of touristic roads. The region enjoys the benefits of a unique nature, a temperate continental climate with short pleasant summers, long autumns, serene and romantic, mild snowy winters.

The recreation park “Strandul Piatra Neamt”, ten minutes away from Central Plaza, is open round the clock. The resort has for the summer time 2 swimming pools, one of Olympic dimensions and one for children and beginners, a football field, a basketball court, a tennis court, a volleyball court, roller skating and skateboarding track, quad bike (ATV), riding and bike riding, playgrounds for children. In winter, there’s a skating rink of 650 mp.
The Gondola offers a lovely view of the entire town and represents the most modern and the fastest means of transport in order to reach the Cozla Mountain and the skiing track. It leaves from the Piatra Neamt rail station, five minutes away from the hotel. The 22 gondolas move away on a distance of 2000 m.
The skiing track, recently put into use, lies on a length of approximately 1000 m on the Cozla Mountain and it is equipped with floodlight system. There’re also a tubing track and a chair lift.
The Equestrian Stadium Virgil Barbuceanu is recognized for the organization of national and international competitions and for some valuable equine exemplars such as “Indian”- a sole exemplar in Romania, and “Violet”- a former star of the Moscow Olympics. The tourists can go on a coach riding or can have riding lessons.
The Cozla Park calls the tourists’ attention by the diversity of colours which change along the seasons and offers a special view of the town, while the Zoological Park brings together significant species of the local fauna.

Teatrul Vostru (Your Theatre), the first private theatre in Romania, was founded by the great actress Draga Olteanu Matei together with The Syndicates’ House of Culture.

The History and Archeology Museum
The Cucuteni Aeneolithic Art Museum from Piatra Neamt - The Cucuteni culture is the last great culture of painted ceramics from Europe; its main characteristic is trichromatic painted pottery (white, red and black).
The Ethnography Museum has an impressive collection of ethnographic objects and popular art from the Neamt county, which show in an eloquent way the occupations, the habits, the costume and the traditional wood architecture.
The Princely Court is an architectural complex made up of The Saint John the Baptist Church, the Belfry Tower and the Princely Court, all of them foundations of Stephen the Great. Placed on a small plateau, the Princely Court represents the nucleus around which the present town was built.
The ruins of the Geto-Dacian fortress from Batca Doamnei (Petrodava), historic monument situated at 4 km away from the town, presents elements of material culture from the Neolithic Age, on the top of which there’s a layer of dwellings from the Bronze Age and then the Geto-Dacian layer.

The Neamt Citadel dates from the XVI century and represents an historic sight of an exceptional value, included in the Unesco patrimony. It’s situated at 46 km away from Piatra Neamt.

The Agapia Monastery - 43 km, built between 1642-1647 by the hetman Gavril (the brother of the ruler Vasile Lupu) and painted by the great artist Nicolae Grigorescu when he was only 20 years old.

The Bistrita Monastery - 8 km, built in 1402 by Alexander the Great, whose tomb is right inside the churchyard. The monastery played an important cultural role because here was written the first chronicle of Moldavia. It comprises a valuable museum of feudal art.
The Bisericani Monastery -12 km W, placed in a special natural setting in the Bisericani village, surrounded by the Pietrosu Mountains (650m). The surrounding peaks are called after the names of the monks who founded here a hermitage in the XV century.

The Sihastria Monastery - 63 km, testimony of the classic Moldavian architecture, the monastery houses valuable religious objects, especially icons (the Holy Virgin carrying her infant in her arms-from the XVII century; the Crowning of the holy Virgin - from the XVIII century).
The Varatec Monastery - 40 km, the largest nun monastery from Romania and one of the most known monasteries from Neamt is situated in a special natural setting. In different periods of time there lived great theologians and intellectuals.

The Ceahlau Mountain - 40 km west from Piatra Neamt is the most important mountain from the Eastern Carpathians; The Ceahlau Mountain forms a well individualized geographic entity and, though it has moderate heights (Summit Ocolasul Mare-1907m), you can see it from far in a cloudless day. Its shape of a giant castle ruined by wind, rains and waters irresistibly invites you hiking. It is made up of pyramids and tours (Detunatele, Turnul Sihastrului), quays and waterfalls (Duruitoare, Statuile, Bistra Mare).
The Lake Izvorul Muntelui (Bicaz) - 35 km away from Piatra Neamt, is a reservoir lake formed on the Bistrita River behind a 120m dam, a real artificial mountain. This “sea from under Ceahlau” is 35 km long and a recreation area. You can go on a boat trip or you can rent a motorboat.
The Bison Reservation Dragos-Voda - one of the largest and the most representative of this kind in Europe, lies on a distance of 11500 hectares and has 28 exemplars of bison. You can also see: Carpathian stags, fallow deer, deer, foxes, bears, wolves as well as a diversity of bird species. There are also a few ponds, especially arranged for fishing, with beautiful fishes such as the carp, the crucian , the pike perch, the pike and the perch.
Codrii de Arama (The Brass Forests) - 30 km away from Piatra Neamt, 1km away from the Varatec Monastery, is a forestry reservation consisting of secular holms. Together with Padurea de Argint (the Silver Forest-secular birch trees) were an inspiration for the great poet Mihai Eminescu.

Whether it’s a pleasant way to develop team spirit or an adventure on fast mountain rivers, you can do rafting on tracks of almost 10 km, on sections of the Bistrita River chosen according to the river’s flow and the participants.
The Tyrolean - the portion of adrenalin is for those people who don’t fear heights. You can traverse steep areas, rivers, crevasses on a system of static ropes or cables.
Sailing - you can go sailing on the lake Izvorul Muntelui.
